Our Work

Each case is individually assessed therefore there is no determined length of stay. We differ from other Refuges in that we accommodate boys up to the age of seventeen and have no age limit for girls. There are no restrictions on family size. Up until 31.05.14 we have accommodated over 5400 families.

Women can access the service 24 hours per day 365 days per year. The Refuge is staffed 24 hours per day. We accept referrals from all other Agencies also self-referrals .No catchment area applies.

The only criteria for admission are that the woman must be fleeing Domestic Violence, which is physical, emotional, psychological, sexual or financial abuse.

The use of Violence of any type is prohibited i.e. physical or verbal abuse.

Slapping of children is strictly forbidden.

The use of Alcohol or Illicit Drugs is prohibited.

We do accept women who are stabilised on a Methadone Programme.

Support Us

In the Refuge we enjoy the good will and support of the members of the community we are in. We deal with many extremely sad and tough situations on a daily basis but it is this support that brings hope and faith to all who work in and pass through the refuge.
